Inlays and onlays, on the other hand, can actually increase the strength of the tooth by up to 75%. Inlays and onlays are fabricated outside of the mouth and therefore are capable of being made much stronger than typical fillings. Inlays and onlays are especially suitable for the chewing surfaces of back teeth. They can be the same color as your teeth.
